| Join local Archaeologist Dr Nigel Baker on a journey of discovery around Shrewsbury’s river loop in Canoes and Bellboats. Looking at the town’s medieval defences and castle, lost streams, ancient fords, historic wharfs, Victorian health hazards and much more. Participants should be aware that although we start at Frankwell the finish point is at Shrewsbury Weir. No previous paddling experience is required. Participants should be dressed in suitable outdoor clothing and soft soled shoes. River levels may lead to change of date. 7pm. £15 |
