| Recitla by Peter Stephenson – Piano, Anthony Desbroulais – Cello, Anne Tupling – Violin playing Brahms Piano Trio in B major. Peter is a popular and experienced musician who has played frequently with London orchestras. He has also joined frequently as an ensemble member, with Anne Tupling and Counterpoint, as well as being involved in vocal work. For many years, Peter was the harpsichordist in the Ariosti Ensemble, a baroque group, playing concertos by CPE Bach, Haydn and Mozart. | The Band, under their Director of Music Major N P Morgan, will be performing a concert of light popular music in a wideranging programme to suit all tastes and one which displays the all-round versatility of the Band. The concert is in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund, which is committed to providing help to Army and ex-Army personnel and their dependants who are in real need. | Piano recital by Lavinia O’meagher, who will play Haydn – Sonata in C minor HOB XIV/20. Mozart - K576 in D major. Beethoven - Op 110 in A flat. Lavinia O’Meagher has given many recitals in London, including the Wigmore Hall, and at music societies around the country. She was for many years a senior piano tutor at the City Lit, and now teaches privately in London. While living in Australia she studied with Schoenberger and also with Alexander Hmelnitsky, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatorium and a pupil of Rachmaninov. Later she studied in Paris with Marguerite Long, and at the Royal Academy of Music with Harold Craxton. 1.00 pm. £4.00 on the door. Only concession Friends of Gateway Arts £3.00.
